Congratulations to Dan Wright in the Department of Psychology! He will receive an award from the Psychonomic Society at their November meeting for his authorship of the best article of the year published in the Society's journal, Behavior Research Methods. The article "Wright, D.B., Horry, R., & Skagerberg, E.M. (2009). Functions for traditional and multilevel approaches to signal detection theory. Behavior Research Methods, 41, 257-267," was selected from among 150 articles published or slated to be published in the journal in 2009. |

Dr. Dee Mills has had a new shrimp species, Alpheus millsae, named after her. The common name of this species is "Mills' Snapping Shrimp". Dr. Mills is the Director of the Forensic DNA Profiling Facility and a member of the Biology Department Faculty at FIU. Entrepreneurial Science Internship Course ISC 4947
The Entrepreneurial Science Internship Course (ISC 4947) is an interdisciplinary course developed in the College of Arts & Sciences that allows students with a Junior/Senior standing to take part in all aspects of a home-grown, high-tech startup company. Students that take part in this company will be exposed to real-life decision making while helping in a multi-disciplinary capacity to launch a product, secure financing and enabling partnerships with other corporations. For consideration into the internship course program, student must send a resume and cover letter communicating their desire and skills to be part of this program

ISC 4947 is offered in conjunction with Florida International University’s Office of Entrepreneurial Science, an entity managed by entrepreneurs who desire to make a difference in FIU and the Miami area.
