Course title: Entrepreneurial Science Internship (ISC 4xxx)
Syllabus-Course Description: Internship in a faculty laboratory with emphasis on finding commercial applications of the laboratory’s ongoing research. 1-20 hrs/wk.
The internship will be offered by the College of Arts & Sciences faculty working in conjunction with the College’s Office of Entrepreneurial Science (OES).
| Week 1-2

Introduction to laboratory research and assignment of a research problem.

| Week 2-4
|
Discuss progress of assigned research problem with faculty. Compile a one page list of possible commercial applications.

| Week 4-8
|
Discuss progress of assigned research problem with faculty supervisor. Preliminary market feasibility report for three possible commercial applications due on week 8. Report to be reviewed by faculty supervisor and OES.

| Week 8-12
|
Choose a single commercial application. Propose a two page business concept. Meet periodically with faculty and OES.
|
| Week 14-16
|
Complete market feasibility report of proposed business concept (no more than five pages). To be reviewed by faculty and OES.
|
Final grade based on written reports and overall laboratory work.
